Updates on Our Learning:
Second graders have begun writing a collection of their own poems, showing off their thoughtfulness and creativity! Ask your child to tell you about a poem they have written.
This week, we are beginning our next math unit, focusing on the tens and hundreds places. We will be reviewing 10 more / 10 less than a given number and beginning to think about 100 more / 100 less than a number. We will be comparing numbers up to the hundreds place and thinking about multiple ways we can represent a number (e.g., 142 = 1 hundred, 4 tens, and 2 ones or 142 = 14 tens and 2 ones).
2nd graders have been reading a variety of poems, exploring the big feelings and big ideas in other poets' writing.
