Important Dates & Reminders

What are we learning?

Language Arts

  • We are in the middle of our critical literacy unit. During this unit, we will be having students look at text and determine bias that might be present. 
  • We are continuing to work on prefixes, learning their meanings and how that changes the meaning of a word. 
  • Students will also be creating a fractured fairytale. 

Math

  • Students will Identify and draw representations of points, lines, line segments, rays, and angles.
  • Students will learn to name different polygons based on their number sides.
  • Students will work on remembering their multiplication facts.  

Science

  • Students will investigate the water cycle and how water moves through the system. 
  • How we clean water to make it drinkable.
  • Students will begin to understand that water is a limited resource. 

Social Studies

  • Students will investigate the contributions of ancient cultures and civilizations and how they continue to impact our world today.

Questions to ask your child at home.

  • Ask your student about their chosen research topic. 
  • Visit the library or pebblego.com to help your student research their topic. 
  • Go on a shape hunt with your student. Look for cubes, spheres, rectangular prisms, and pyramids. 
  • Count by 2,5, and 10 with your student. 
  • Use pebblego.com or visit the library to research Egypt. 
  • Talk about what contributions from Ancient Egypt we still use today.
