Important Dates & Reminders

  • November 27th-29th: Thanksgiving Break
  • December 13th:School-wide Field Trip to Natural History Museum

What are we learning?

Language Arts

  • In Language Arts, students are finishing up a unit on how characters shape stories.
  • In the upcoming unit, students will begin to learn about Government and Citizenship

Math

  • In Math, students are learning how to describe a polygon.
  • Students are also learning about how to classify and compare polygons as triangles, quadrilaterals, pentagons, hexagons, and octagons). 

Social Studies 

  • In social studies, students are learning how the contributions of ancient Egypt continue to influence our world today. 

Science

  • In science, students will learn about the water cycle.
  • Students will learn that there is a water cycle and that water is important to life on Earth.

Questions to ask your child at home.

  • What is a polygon?
  • In what ways do characters shape stories?
  • How do our actions influence our lives (questions from our Language Arts unit)?
  • On what continent is ancient Egypt located?

Field Trip!

We are going on a school-wide field trip on December 13th to the Natural History Museum. The cost of the trip will be about $10 for each person. Please stay tuned for more information to come!
