What are we learning?

Language Arts

• In language arts, students are learning about how characters shape stories. 
• In language arts, students are learning how to write an opinion essay. 

Math

• In Math, students are learning how to represent and solve multiplication and division problems using several approaches and models including repeated addition, grouping/sharing, arrays, equal jumps on a number line, and skip counting. 
• In Math, students are learning how to create their own multiplication and division story problems. 

Science

• In science, students will be learning about the water cycle.

Social Studies

• In social studies, students are learning about world geography.
• In social studies, students will be learning about Ancient Egypt. 

Questions to ask your child at home.

• Which characters have you learned about so far?
• What strategies can you use to solve multiplication problems?
• Name the 7 Continents.
• Which continent do we live on?

Other – SEL Second Step Lessons Begin!

This month, we will start our Social-Emotional Second Step Curriculum. After the first lesson students will be able to state what happens in their brain when they learn a new skill.
