Updates on Our Learning:

• In Math, we are finishing up our unit on measurement and will be starting Geometry next week! 
• In ELA, we are continuing with our Content Area Research unit and integrating Social Studies with our GATP project. Be sure to ask your child what their topic is at home! 
• In Science, we are learning about light, how it travels in transverse waves and how the colors are determined in the visible light spectrum. We also just learned about refraction and will be learning about how light is reflected, transmitted and absorbed 
• In Writing, we have been responding to prompts to prepare for our writing SOL on the 20th! 

Social Emotional Learning 

• We are on Unit 3 of our SEL lessons and are learning about “Empathy and Kindness.” 
• Students are learning how to apply their perspective-taking and empathy skills to define and help solve a community problem
