Updates on Our Learning:

• In science, we are moving on to Landforms! We will be learning about the layers of the Earth, plate tectonics (different plate boundaries: convergent, divergent, and transform), how earthquakes and volcanoes are formed by of the movement of the Earth’s plates, weathering, erosion and deposition, mixtures and solutions and rock identification and formation.
• In math, we are learning how to multiply and divide decimal numbers. We are also using strategies to solve single and multi-step decimal word problems. 
• In writing, we will be starting a Narrative Nonfiction writing prompt. 
• In reading, we are moving on to Narrative Nonfiction text. 
• In social studies, we are finishing up Ancient China and moving on to Greece and/or Rome. 

Social Emotional Learning (SEL)

• We have started teaching SEL lessons through our Second Step program and our first unit is on goal setting! You can help support at home by setting attainable goals at home and brainstorming checkpoints to work towards them.
