What are we learning?

Language Arts

  • We are still working on our persuasive writing
  • Critical Literacy- We are reading and engaging in dialogue in response to some of the following questions: Who is the author? Why do you think the author wrote this text? Who is the audience? What does the author want you to know or convince you to do? 

Math

  • Whole Number Computation- We are learning how to use our Math 4 Corners strategy to decode single and multi-step addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division word problems
  • Order of Operations- We are learning how to solve algebraic expressions based on their order in the equation (PEMDAS- “Please Excuse My Dear Darling Mother, As She Sings ABCs”) 

Science

  • We just finished the unit on Force, Motion, and Energy and took our Unit 1 Benchmark Test! 
  • Next, we will review until we start the next unit which is Landforms! 

Social Studies

  • We are learning about the ancient civilizations of India, China, Mesoamerica, and Mesopotamia

Zoo FieldTrip 

  • The school field trip to the zoo was a wonderful time! It was a pleasure getting to spend time with the families who were able to make it!
