Language Arts
What are we learning?
We will be finishing out research!
Students will participate in collaborative and partner discussions about various texts and topics, Listen and respond to a variety of print and media materials, Use vocabulary from other content areas, Ask and answer who, what, where, when, why, and how questions about what is read.
Then, to begin our next unit, students learn there is another layer of meaning to be analyzed in texts. These include the explicit and implicit messages, belief systems, and experiences that help us construct our understanding of the world.

- Consider trying these activities when reading with your child at home
- Have partner discussions about various texts and topics.
- Listen and respond to different types of books
- Add or delete letters to make new words.
- Discuss the meanings of words in context.
- Ask and answer who, what, when, where, why, and how questions about what is read.
- Identify the theme.
Math
What are we learning?
- Students will create and solve single-step story and picture problems using addition and subtraction within 20
- Students will demonstrate fluency with addition and subtraction within 10
- Students will demonstrate an understanding of equality through the use of the equal symbol

Science
What are we learning?
- Students describe changes to their weather data as winter changes into spring. Students learn about how people respond to spring changes and they consider changes to their park they might expect to observe in spring.

- Consider reading books about Spring time changes and discuss how those changes, impact your daily routines.
Social Studies
What are we learning?
- History
- Students explain how people of the past have influenced the present
- Geography
- Students read maps and understand the impact of geography on culture
- Civics
- Students recognize the structure of government and the relationship between rules, laws, and becoming a good citizen
- Economics
- Students understand the economic concepts and the impact of economics on a culture
