Hello families! We are halfway through the third quarter!  We have many exciting events coming up in March. Only 1 more month until spring break! We are so proud of the students and all the learning they have been doing this year. Please make sure you are sending your child to school each day, attendance is important for your child’s learning.

Language Arts

What are we learning?

  • The critical Literacy Unit is beginning next week. We will be looking at books through a critical lens, reflecting on our perspective and the perspectives of others.

Home/School Connection

  • What is the Author’s Message in the book you read?
  • What is the theme?
  • Think about the issue from other perspectives when reading a book at home.

Math

What are we learning?

  • Two-Digit Addition and Subtraction Part 2
  • We will be diving deeper into two-digit addition and subtraction in this unit. We will develop a variety of problem-solving strategies when adding or subtracting two-digit numbers.
  • Students will be growing their knowledge of place value and using that understanding to help us with our strategies.
