What are we learning?

  • Kindergarten will be learning more about shapes and then designing a piece of playground equipment using different shapes.
  • First graders will be learning about animals. They will learn how animal parents help their children and if they look like their parents or not.
  • Second graders are learning about matter. They will try and figure out what a mystery goop is a solid or a liquid. They will also be making their own ice cream which they will change a solid into a liquid.
  • Third grade will be completing some engineering challenges for Women’s History month.
  • Raye Montague is an American naval engineer credited with creating the first computer-generated rough draft of a U.S. naval ship, so students will be challenged to build a Naval ship that holds the most cargo.
  • Emily Warren Roebling became the first female field engineer in history and helped with the construction of the Brooklyn Bridge, so students will design a model of the Brooklyn Bridge that can hold the most vehicles without collapsing.
  • Fourth grade and Fifth grade will be learning more about Oceans and designing a submersible.
