We are starting our nonfiction unit. We will be learning how to read and understand different parts of nonfiction texts.

Finding nonfiction topics they are passionate about and can use in their daily life.

We are beginning our fraction unit. We will be focusing on understanding and manipulating fractions.

Finding fractions in real life (e.g. cooking, sharing, dividing things into equal pieces).

We are learning about ecosystems.

Look at different levels of the ecosystems students find themselves in (e.g. their environment at school, home, and traveling).

Native People of VA and Colonial life in VA.

Students can make connections by comparing how they lived to how people who lived here in the past did.
