What are we learning?

Music: 

The focus this quarter is on music literacy for all grades.

  • Students in grades K-2 are reading notated rhythm patterns and playing them on classroom percussion instruments.
  • Students in Grades K-1 are learning  about the French Composer Camille Saint-Saens and his famous work Carnival of the Animals. 
  • Grade 2-3 students will study the Russian composer Sergei Prokofiev’s famous piece Peter and the Wolf
  • Third and fourth-grade students are learning to read music notes in treble clef while practicing the recorder. 
  • Fifth and sixth-grade students are preparing to compose and perform their own melodies on the Orff instruments.
  •  Sixth-grade Students selected to participate in All-County Chorus continue to rehearse for their concert  on April 27, 2024, at Hayfield Secondary School.

STEAM

  • Students are working independently on coding using Micro Bits.
  • 5th grade students are using building components to assemble electronic circuits.    
  • 6th grade is working on completing their Air Quality research.  

Library

  • Spring Book Fair is March 18-22 in the Bucknell Library
  • Family hours will be March 18-21st 3:30-4:30 (Monday through Thursday)  
  • The Book Fair will be broken down on Friday afternoon March 22 but online shopping can continue over Spring Break :)
