Language Arts

What are we learning?

• Content area research.
• Students will research about a topic they know nothing about.

Home/School Connection

• Have your child read books, magazines, or informational websites to find out more information about their topics they are researching in class! Maybe make a trip to the local library and get some books and articles on their topic!

Math

What are we learning?

• Addition and Subtraction Part 2
• Students will add and subtract up to 4 digits. Add and subtract money. Practice elapsed time.​​​​​​​

Home/School Connection

• Practice counting money at home and telling time! You could also practice adding and subtracting 4 digits! For example, 4373-3690.

Science

What are we learning?

• Soils
• Students learn about the components of soil and how it helps our environment.

Home/School Connection

• Have your child go around your home and examine the soil. Maybe plant a flower and observe how the soil helps it grow!

Social Studies

What are we learning?

• Ancient China and Ancient Greece
• Students will learn about the contributions of these civilizations to our daily lives.​​​​​​​

• Have your child look up books and websites about these civilizations and tell you 3 facts they learned!
