What are we learning?
Language Arts
- We are learning all about books !
- We will talk about many different types of texts and topics.
- We will blend and separate sounds to make and break down words.
- We will blend initial, middle, and final sounds to recognize and read words
- We will retell stories and events, using the beginning, middle, and end in a sequential order.
Math
- We are revisiting Addition and subtraction !
- We will create and solve simple and complex story problems
- We will recognize and describe math addition and subtraction relationships
- We will use the plus symbol, the menus symbol, and the equal symbol
Science
- Animals need certain things in order to survive in their environments
- Animals may acquire their needs differently, depending on their physical characteristics
- Physical characteristics can determine whether an animal lives in water or on land
- Physical characteristics determine an animal’s method of movement
- Animals have a variety of physical characteristics, including appendages, and different body coverings, that help them survive
Social Studies
- Students will apply the traits of a good citizen, on and offline, by
- focusing on fair play, good sportsmanship, helping others, and treating others with respect
- recognize the purpose of rules and practicing self-control
- Students will describe and make connections to the work of Martin Luther King Jr.
