The annual All-County Chorus Festival will take place on April 27, 2024, at Hayfield Secondary School at 3 p.m. Bucknell ES will be sending seven talented sixth-graders to participate in the Festival this year.
What are we learning?
Music
General Music: The third and fourth-quarter music units focus on music literacy; and reading music notation correctly.
K-2 students continue to play classroom percussion instruments and play written rhythmic patterns.
K-1 students are completing their study of Carnival of the Animals by Camille Saint-Saens.
Students in grades 2-3 are completing their study of Peter and the Wolf by Serge Prokofiev.
Third and fourth-grade students are learning new repertoire on the recorder.
Fifth and sixth-grade students are composing their own ten-note melodies.
STEAM
K-1 Grades are learning about algorithms. They will be programming Bee Bots soon!
2nd Grade students are thinking about technology tools to prepare them in Building Solar Ovens.
3rd Grade is testing soil for Nitrogen (N), Phosphorus (P), and Potash (K) to ensure proper plant growth.
4th Grade is working on making the Ocean Zones (Sunlight, Twilight, Midnight, Abyss, Trench) in a jar.
5th Grade students are making ArtBots.
6th Grade students will be exploring Algebra through a ‘Hands On Equations’ program. .
